Acquisitions Editor (Women’s Line) – Moody Publishers

Job Description:

Under the supervisor of the Director of Acquisitions, to acquire titles for Moody Publishers’ Women’s Line that reflect the values of Moody Bible Institute and uphold Moody Publishers’ goal to help readers experience the power and amazement of a fresh encounter with Jesus Christ.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Apply all diligence and creativity to finding viable authors and products that support the above objective
  • Develop a growing network of contacts and information sources that support the procurement of viable products
  • Lead the Women’s Publishing Team in the formulation and management of strategies to accomplish goals for the line as established by the Director of Acquisitions. This includes nurturing the team’s expertise in all areas of the Women’s product market
  • Negotiate contracts with potential authors and/or agents
  • Assist the Director of Acquisitions in assessing the Publishing Team’s performance
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Acquisitions and/or Editor-in-Chief

 

Job Qualifications:
  • Three to five years of publishing (or related) experience preferred
  • Avid reader
  • An interest in bringing God’s truth to bear on every aspect of a woman’s life, including the home, workplace, community, and church. Written for women of every background and life stage, these books recognize the unique opportunities and challenges women face in our culture. Accordingly, the Women’s Team leader will possess a keen interest in evangelism, discipleship, spiritual formation, personal spiritual renewal, the integration of faith and practice, societal issues, and so forth
  • Support for (or acceptance of) a Complementarian position on gender
  • Winsome, socially gracious, with adequate networking skills
  • Strategic thinker, planner, and self-starter
  • Team leadership and project management skill sets
  • Solid evangelical belief system
