Job Description:

The Department of Theology at Moody Bible Institute seeks a junior/senior appointment beginning Fall 2010. The Theology Department works with the department of Bible to service the 40-hour general Bible and Theology curriculum required of every undergraduate. In addition, the Theology Department offers a major beyond the general student requirement (27 hrs + 3 hr internship) in four tracks--systematic theology, historical theology, biblical theology, and philosophical theology and apologetics. The Department of Theology is one of nine academic departments within the Undergraduate Division that enrolls 1,600 students with the intent to provide a Bible-centered education that enables the students to know Christ and serve Him through His Church in vocational ministry. MBI is generally Calvinistic and dispensational. Faculty are required to affirm the Institute's doctrinal statement annually (www.moody.edu, click “Moody Believes” button at the bottom right on the home page).

Job Responsibilities:
  • Specialty in Systematic Theology is required
  • Ancillary interests in philosophy and apologetics preferred
  • Teaching load 12 hours/semester
  • College-level teaching experience preferred and a PhD in hand by the time of appointment (July 1, 2010)
  • Bible college or seminary degree desired, as well as ministry experience
  • Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience
  • Committed to transformational learning
  • A desire to mentor and develop students
  • Committed to the preparation of young people for vocational ministry
