Moody Campus Tours

Moody Plaza filled with Students

To gain a perspective on our historic past and to capture a vision for how our current ministries are taking the truth of God’s word and applying it to life, consider touring our campus.

Regular Campus Tours

Tours are offered daily at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., Monday through Friday. Beginning in the D.L. Moody Museum, located on the first floor of Smith Hall, guests will view an eight-minute historical video on the life of Moody’s founder, Dwight Lyman Moody. The video is followed by a 45-minute walking tour of the campus led by a current Moody student. Stops on the tour include:

  • WMBI, the first non-commercial Christian radio station in the United States
  • Smith Hall, one of the oldest buildings remaining on campus
  • Torrey-Gray Auditorium, named after two early Moody presidents, James Gray and R. A. Torrey, which seats over 1800 people and is where students attend chapel
  • The Sweeting Center, named in honor of Moody's sixth president, Dr. George Sweeting, the main location for classrooms and faculty offices

Self-Guided Tours

If a regular tour time does not work for you, consider taking a self-guided tour using MP3 technology and guided map. The recorded narration, by Music Thru the Night host Mike Kellogg, will provide a way to learn about our campus at your own pace. For information on this option, call (312) 329-4404.  Or, while on campus, visit the Welcome Center desk in Smith Hall.

Special Group Tours

If you have a group of 10 or more guests, we would be happy to schedule a special tour for your group.  Please contact us to make arrangements in advance for this special opportunity.  You can do so by contacting (312) 329-4404 or egs@moody.edu.
