Dr. J. Brian Tucker, associate professor of New Testament at Moody Theological Seminary in Michigan has been named an Honorary Research Fellow at the School of Theology, Religious Studies and Islamic Studies at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David. He is the first American to receive this honor.
"Dr. Tucker's achievement highlights the quality of scholarly and ministry modeling that his students have come to expect from him," said Dr. John Jelinek, vice president and dean of Moody Theological Seminary. "Those who engage him in this expertise find him not only scholarly, but practical-pointing the way to our only viable wholistic identity as those who belong to Christ."
According to Robert Pope, joint head of school for the School of Theology, Religious Studies and Islamic Studies, Dr. Tucker will collaborate with the university on research projects, books and seminars. Currently, there are six Research Fellows in the school.
The School of Theology, Religious Studies and Islamic Studies at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David is the outcome of a historic merger between Trinity University College, Carmarthen and the University of Wales, Lampeter. It is the largest department dedicated to such study in Wales and is among the largest and most distinguished schools of its kind in the United Kingdom.
