Lydia HomeThis Christmas season, Moody students, employees and radio listeners are coming together to give back to the community.  On Friday, December 14, two separate outreaches gave Moody an opportunity to serve those in need.

Moody's Practical Christian Ministries (PCM) department partnered with Angel Tree, a ministry of Prison Fellowship, to host a Christmas party and gift distribution center for at-risk children.  More than one hundred volunteers, including Moody students and staff, spent the day in Moody's Solheim Center hosting games and activities and telling Bible stories for children of incarcerated parents.  Each child was also given a Christmas gift, courtesy of donations made via Angel Tree.  In addition, Roy Patterson and WMBI AM 1110 broadcast live from Solheim Center during the event.

Michelle StrombeckAlso on December 14, WMBI listeners were invited to join producer Michelle Strombeck in collecting and wrapping Christmas gifts at Lydia Home Association, a ministry organization that provides foster care, counseling, educational opportunities, and more to Chicago area children and families.  More than 20 volunteers from WMBI's listening audience helped wrap thousands of gifts collected for children in Lydia's residential treatment program, foster care, Healthy Families program, Urban Academy (an alternative high school), preschool and more.
