The weekend of September 12-14, the heavy rains may have kept many inside, but the Moody Graduate School headed out anyway. Faculty and graduate students, along with their spouses and children, traveled to The Salvation Army’s Wonderland Camp in Camp Lake, Wisconsin for the annual Graduate School fall retreat.
The retreat is built into the curriculum to create community within the Graduate School. Dr. Fuder, professor of Urban Studies in the Moody Graduate School, sees the retreat as a chance for the students to “cultivate unity, and to use this time surrendering the coming school year to the Lord.”
The retreat is an important time for students to connect with faculty and other students. During the final night, communion was held, and the students were encouraged to surrender their school year to the Lord. Through this, they connected with the theme of the retreat, found in Acts 2:42: “They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.”
