Graduate school orientation was held August 25, 2008. This year’s incoming class includes 136 graduate students, with 11 international students from Australia, Canada, China, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Korea, Myanmar, Philippines, United Kingdom and Uganda. During orientation, new students were introduced to their future professors, the services available to them and Moody's expectations of them.
A welcome and introduction was given by Jeff Miller of Student Development, followed by the vice president and dean of Moody Graduate School, John Jelinek and Charles Dyer, provost and dean of Education. Christian Martinsen, Graduate School Student Council officer, introduced himself as well.
Students were then introduced to the faces of Moody’s various departments. After registration for classes, a lunch was provided with the faculty of Moody, giving the students an opportunity for interaction with their future professors. The orientation concluded with a few words from Jayanthi Benjamin of the Women Student Development Council.
