Moody Radio’s “My Gift to Jesus” campaign with World Vision concluded November 22, as Selah and Avalon joined Moody Radio for a sold-out Front Row Live! concert at The Moody Church.
Throughout the campaign, Moody Radio listeners were encouraged to sponsor a child and contribute to the needs of the developing world through Christian humanitarian organization World Vision. During the live national broadcast of Saturday’s concert, the artists encouraged listeners to call World Vision and sponsor a child, while 78 children were sponsored by the in-house audience alone.
Across the country, 1,446 Moody Radio listeners have given to the campaign, sponsoring more than 700 children and pledging $108,646 for World Vision projects.
“We are very thankful for all the Moody Radio listeners who responded to our ‘My Gift for Jesus’ campaign for World Vision,” says Bruce Everhart, manager of Marketing and Development for Moody Radio. “In the midst of a tough economy, listeners continue to respond whenever the call goes out on Moody Radio to help the poor and needy.”
One listener wrote to say, “I didn't have the money recently when you ran the World Vision campaign. But this morning I called them and added two children to the one I already sponsor…I was led to do so while listening to your [WMBI AM 1110] radio program. I'm sure there are many others who are being led to support World Vision due to your efforts, though you may not know about a lot of them this side of heaven.”
