On April 6, Moody Radio will debut the  Today in the Word  radio program, which will bring Moody’s most powerful preaching and teaching to listeners each day in a 24-minute format. The beginning of Today in the Word will also mark the departure of inContext with Michael Easley from the Moody Radio line-up.

Dr. Michael Easley resigned as president of Moody Bible Institute last year due to health concerns. He continued to serve as president emeritus until January 2009, when he joined the pastoral teaching team at Fellowship Bible Church in Brentwood, Tennessee.

“God has used the inContext broadcast to encourage thousands of radio listeners who have tuned in each weekday to hear Dr. Easley take them verse by verse through the scriptures,” said Bruce Everhart, manager of Marketing and Development at Moody Radio. “As Moody Radio concludes what has been a profitable series of teaching, we’re grateful for the partnership we have enjoyed with stations through this program and move forward with great eagerness as we anticipate the creation of a new release from Moody Radio!”

The new Today in the Word program will feature daily messages from a variety of teachers who have partnered with Moody ministries, including John MacArthur, Chuck Swindoll, Alistair Begg, Howard Hendricks, Andy Stanley and many more.

Today in the Word will also provide an opportunity to feature special segments readers of the Today in the Word devotional have come to expect, such as sound biblical commentaries and Bible questions and answers. Teaching segments from Moody classrooms and features on current Moody students and alumni will be additional components of the program.
