Visiting Moody

The Moody Admissions and Alumni offices on the Chicago campus have relocated to provide greater accessibility for prospective students and their families. The Admissions office, previously located on the second floor of Crowell Hall, has exchanged offices with the Alumni Association, which was located on the first floor of Smith Hall.

“The change will facilitate the college decision-making process for prospective students because it allows the Admissions office to expand their layout and create customized visits to help our guests feel more at home. We want their time at Moody to be as convenient and informative as possible,” said Thomas Shaw, vice president of Student Services.

Previously, prospective students were required to enter secured areas to gain access to the Admissions office on Crowell 2. Now, they are able to check in at one of the main visitor desks and proceed immediately to the Admissions office. Alumni, who are most likely more familiar with the campus, can check in at Crowell Desk and then proceed to the Alumni office.

The transition will also group the Alumni office in the same area as the Academic Records office and Practical Christian Ministries department. Together, they will create a visual atmosphere that honors the legacy of Moody’s students and their service in the city of Chicago. “We are currently evaluating design concepts to create an inviting space,” said Shaw. “Staff members have been very involved in the process and the move itself has been met with openness and cooperation. We agree it makes sense and is the best situation for our guests.”
