On Aug. 19, Moody Bible Institute welcomed incoming students to the Chicago campus for orientation. The five-day event introduces students to life at Moody and provides parents an opportunity to participate in their child’s transition to college.
First, students register at the outdoor orientation fair on the plaza. This is a chance to learn more about student groups and on-campus ministries and resources.
Then, over the next four days, informational sessions such as library orientation and residence hall meetings are held. Recreational events, like an ice cream social or parent’s reception, are also incorporated into the schedule. The activities conclude with a Vespers service on Sunday evening, which is attended by students and their families. Classes officially begin on Monday, Aug. 24.
This year’s incoming class is comprised of 398 students. 258 are first-time freshmen and 136 are transfer students. More than 20 countries are represented among the 70 international students and missionary kids (MKs).
