On the eve of the Inauguration Ceremony for Dr. J. Paul Nyquist, Moody’s ninth president, Moody students, staff, trustees, delegates, friends and guests joined together in Torrey-Gray Auditorium on the Chicago campus for an Inauguration Eve Musical Celebration.

Hosted by Moody Radio Chicago, the concert featured Dove Award-winning musical recording artist Steve Green and three of Moody’s student musical groups.

“I was thrilled to be invited to participate in the inauguration celebration this October,” said Green.  “My ties to Moody are deep and I'm grateful for the long partnership with Moody Radio. Both of my children graduated from Moody and I have had seven nieces and nephews pass through those halls. The friendships are life-long and the intertwining of ministry a real blessing.”

In addition to the worship music that Green performed in two segments, the middle of the concert featured performances by the Moody Women’s Concert Choir, the Moody Symphonic Band and the Moody Men’s Collegiate Choir.

The highlight of the evening was the final number, in which all three Moody groups, as well as a Moody employee choir, joined together with Steve Green in the powerful song, “We Believe.”

In addition to the more than 900 people in attendance, this musical celebration was aired live on all Moody Radio owned and operated radio stations across the country, and provided to all Moody affiliate stations. Thousands of radio listeners across the nation were celebrating with the Moody family on the eve of the historic and time-honored academic tradition of Inauguration for presidents of colleges and universities.

“This was a wonderful evening of Christ-honoring and Spirit-filled music, and also a great time of celebration as we prepare to officially welcome Dr. Nyquist to the Moody family,” said Bruce Everhart of Moody Radio.
