On February 2, 2010, James Conrad, Director of Flight Operations and Assistant Professor of Missionary Aviation Technology, received the 2010 Faculty Citation Award. The award was presented to Conrad by Dr. Clarence Shuler (’72-74), President of the Moody Bible Institute Alumni Board, during the Tuesday morning session of Moody’s annual Founder’s Week conference.
Each year, the Alumni Association honors a professor from among the dedicated members of the faculty for their distinguished service to Moody’s students. Conrad is most known for his passion to see students become both spiritually formed and technically trained. He is highly respected in the classroom and among Federal and State regulators.
“James’ commitment to educational excellence and spiritual growth on our Spokane campus is something that truly attributes to the quality and uniqueness of our Missionary Aviation program,” said Dr. Larry Davidhizar, Vice President and Dean of the Undergraduate School. “Many of our students credit him with not only teaching them aviation technology, but showing them how to honor the Lord and serve His children through this type of ministry work.”
“James is well-liked and highly respected by students because of the energy he pours into them,” said Alumni Association Executive Director, Walter White. “He is humble and gives great attention to detail with remarkable credibility both in the classroom and in his industry.”
Conrad holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Ohio University and holds two Certificates in Missionary Aviation Technology from Moody. He holds numerous aviation licenses and is also a member of the Aircraft Electronics Association, the Aircraft Owners and Pilot’s Association, Alpha Lambda Delta and Tau Beta Pi.
