On April 10, Moody Bible Institute’s current junior and senior classes gathered at the Downtown Chicago Marriot for the annual Junior-Senior Banquet. The formal event was sponsored by the Junior Class and its council, and was advised by Joe Gonzales, Associate Dean of Student Programs, with the goal of honoring the accomplishments of the senior class and providing a meaningful celebration as the students finish their last semester.

“It was a good time of fellowship with people I may not see again after graduation,” said Joseph Schmidt, senior biblical exposition major, who enjoyed his time at the banquet. After a time of fellowship and food, Robert and Pamela MacRae, Professor of Educational Ministry and Assistant Professor of Pastoral Studies, respectively, spoke to encourage and challenge the seniors. They reminded students that “you will graduate in a few weeks and be scattered around the world. Wherever you are, serve God so that people will say, ‘there is a man or woman who spent time with Jesus.’”

As part of the evening’s festivities various seniors were recognized as “Unsung Heroes” for their deeds of service to the community. To conclude the event, the faculty and students in attendance prayed over the seniors and sent them out before graduation with the blessing of Jesus.
