WMBW, a Moody Bible Institute owned and operated radio station located in Chattanooga, Tenn., received the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) 2010 Station of the Year Award (Medium/Small Market). Leighton LeBoeuf, station manager, accepted the award on February 27 at the annual NRB Convention & Exposition. WMBW serves listeners in southeast Tennessee, northeast Alabama, northwest Georgia and western North Carolina. This is the first Station of the Year award for WMBW, who was nominated by an anonymous third-party.

“We are incredibly honored and humbled by this acknowledgement,” said LeBoeuf. “This is truly a testament to the work God is doing in the lives of our listeners through Moody Radio. Our hard-working team is committed to prayer and dedicated to placing Kingdom work above all else, and it is a great blessing to see God honor this approach.”

As the station partners with its listeners, it strives toward accomplishing four main goals: serving its community, encouraging believers, supporting the work of the Church and providing community ministry opportunities. The station team works to meet these goals through praying, partnering with other ministry organizations and providing solid Bible-based programming to its listeners.

“Every year this prestigious award highlights excellence and outstanding achievement in the broadcast industry,” said Ed Cannon, Moody’s chief operating officer. “WMBW is certainly worthy of this accolade. We are very proud of this station and are encouraged by how God is using it to accomplish Moody’s mission of spreading the gospel to all people.”

The NRB Station of the Year Award (Medium/Small Market) is presented to a radio station that is innovative, locally focused and effectively impacts a market of less than 1.5 million in potential population through community service, promotions and marketing, outreach, ratings and other means.
