Chicago, IL (February 5, 2008) — Midday Connection, Moody Radio’s live 55-minute national radio program, was awarded the 2008 National Religious Broadcaster’s (NRB) Media Award for Radio Program of the Year – Long Form.
"This is such an honor, and our Midday team is humbled to receive such an award,” said Anita Lustrea, host and Executive Producer of Midday Connection. “It's our deepest desire that winning an award like this would draw more women to the Midday Connection community and hence into a deeper walk with Christ."
The award will be presented to the Midday Connection team at the 65th annual NRB convention, to be held March 8 through 11 in Nashville, Tenn. Accepting the award will be producer Lori Neff, along with Lustrea and her co-host Melinda Schmidt.
In a letter announcing the award, NRB President and CEO Frank Wright wrote, ”The award signifies that Midday Connection was determined to be the most compelling, relevant, personable and entertaining of all submissions in the long format, all the while demonstrating an authentic Christian faith in content."
Midday Connection is designed to encourage women, with a focus on growing the whole person, body, mind and soul. The program brings listeners relevant, biblically informed content about marriage, parenting, the workplace, finances and spirituality.
“We are affirmed by the recognition of our peers in the radio industry. Midday Connection is committed to helping women live out of the fullness of who God intended them to be,” said Lustrea. “We plan to continue serving women to the best of our ability and with the same effort that led Midday Connection to win this prestigious award."
