From the Word

Stephanie Kaihoi earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Moody Bible Institute in 2007. During the difficult, transitional years of junior high school, which included her parents’ separation, Stephanie found God to be her only constant and true rock. She followed the Lord’s calling and enrolled in a public high school, where she spent a majority of her time mentoring and leading her peers into a deeper walk with Christ.

While Stephanie felt a sense of victory for having kept the good faith during high school, many of her peers had regrets and struggled with eating disorders, violence and depression. BI - Stephanie Kaihoi - 2Burdened by the Lord to see other girls experience the same triumph she felt at her high school graduation, she wrote a six-week devotional study during her senior year at Moody. Finishing With No Regrets is a comprehensive study that provides teenage girls with practical, Bible-based truths that are necessary for engaging in an active relationship with God and growing as a daughter of the King.

To Life

In June 2009, while she was seeking God’s will through a 40-day fast, Stephanie sensed a pull from God to use her gifts in a new way.

“God made it so clear that I should focus on teaching the next generation of young women to love the Lord and crave His Word,” she said.

In response, she began Legacy Living Ministries, which carries out this mission by hosting conferences for teenage girls and their female leaders, while also providing online biblical resources for ministry leaders, parents and mentors. The Finishing With No Regrets conferences offer girls and their leaders biblical teaching, worship and discipleship training. The intent is to provide further discipleship opportunities following the conferences through the six-week Finishing With No Regrets study. Paired with the conference, the study provides accountability for decisions made at the conference and teaches students how to biblically apply God’s Word to their lives.

The first conference is on October 30, 2010, in Minnesota and has an expected attendance of 2,000 students and leaders. The speakers include members of the Legacy Living Ministries team as well as Ginny Olson, author of Teenage Girls and Youth Ministry Management Tools. In their sessions, students will learn about finding identity, experiencing freedom and living boldly for Christ. Leader sessions will focus on building solid ministry foundations, addressing teens’ needs and persevering with faithfulness in ministry.

The Legacy Living Ministries team is comprised of six members, with Kaihoi as the director. The team includes Moody graduates Kim Pickett (2007), Annie Ingram (2008) and Nikki Bryan (2009). These women serve through planning conferences, communicating with donors and coordinating with volunteers. In the future, Stephanie’s vision for Legacy Living Ministries includes “less conferences and more relationship building with the churches we come in contact with.”

As Stephanie continues her journey of serving God, her fulfillment comes from “seeing God’s fingerprints on every part of this ministry.”

“Having the privilege to be a part of a ministry that is pointing people to Christ in practical and meaningful ways, furthering His kingdom and bringing glory to God is both a joy and a delight,” she explained.

Stephanie lives in Arlington Heights, Ill. with her husband, Trevor.
